Battista's Hole In The Wall, Las Vegas

I know I haven't posted much lately but this place Battista's has made me want to share about it.
It is just off the Strip on Flamingo East and if I hadn't researched restaurants online I would have walked pass it every time. But it's reputation made me come and check it out. And I'm glad I did!

The menu is simple. You get various Pasta dishes and typical Italian meat and seafood dishes all accompanied with free Salad or Soup, Garlic Bread and best if all unlimited Red or White House Wine.
As soon as I was seated the first question was did I want Red or White Wine and then 3 seconds later a whole carafe yes a whole one appeared before me. All just for me!!! I didn't drink it all, mind.
I asked my waitress what she would recommend and she was very happy to tell me a little about the dishes. The accompaniments that come as standard are lovely and plentiful. Nothing fancy but that's just the way it should be in a typical old fashioned Italian restaurant.

Meanwhile I am munching away on my garlic bread and salad, Georgie, a charming little creature who must be nearing his 90's, appears with his Harmonica.
He asks me how I was doing and where I was from. I said great and Germany. So he goes: 'watch this!' and started to play and sing an old German song that even though I didn't know, I found such lovely and welcoming gesture.

The mains arrived. I am having a New York strip and the sides yet again come free as standard. Pasta, creamed Spinach and a Parmesan crusted baked tomato. All tasty and perfectly cooked. Again no gimmicks just plain yummy food.

The only thing is this would be perfect for  a group of friends or family and I only have you to share it with :-) so I hope you enjoy it.
Geogie is singing another song and people are starting to sing along. What a lovely atmosphere.

Oh, and then just I was ready to leave it all behind, the free homemade Cappuccino arrives. It tastes like a hug. All warm and sweet and homely. Actually it tastes like a really nice coffee flavoured hot chocolate.
Seriously do come here! I mean it.
